Prevention in Wellington is under the umbrella of Healthy Wellington which is an integrated approach involving our many member agencies.
The terms ‘prevention’ and ‘integrated health promotion’ are used interchangeably and refer to:
‘agencies and organisations from a wide range of sectors and communities in a catchment (local area) working in collaboration using a mix of health promotion interventions and capacity building strategies to address priority health and wellbeing issues.’
A copy of the Wellington Primary Care Partnership Intergrated Health Care Promotion Plan 2020-2021 is available here.
To achieve effective delivery of integrated health promotion programs in the current Victorian context, the following points should be considered:
- Effective partnerships
- A mix of interventions and a common system of collaborative planning
- A broad range of sectors (including education, welfare, local government, health, aged care, sport and disability)
