Resourcing the WPCP
To enable organisations across the catchment to participate in relevant Wellington Primary Care Partnership activities in line with their capacity at that time, a number of working groups may be established around key strategic areas or joint initiatives. Organisations may choose for a range of workers to participate at any or all PCP meetings, though have only one voting right at business meetings.
The Wellington Primary Care Partnership has various working groups including the WPCP Integrated Chronic Disease Management Working Group
If you would like to be involved in any of these working groups, please contact Jo Cockwill – jo.cockwill@cghs.com.au
Support for Professional Development
Wellington PCP has provided support for agencies wishing to send staff to professional development activities or conferences which will build agency capacity to improve service delivery, the management of clients with chronic or complex disease or to develop and implement health promotion strategies.
The PCP has developed a form for agencies to use to facilitate the support application process. PD Application

Make Written Information Accessible
How many people who visit or work in your organisation can read the information you provide? The Australian Bureau of Statistics suggest up to 47% of the population have difficulty interpreting information given to them. We all need written information that we understand.
Information allows us to make meaningful choices, access services and be included in our community.
Easy English and Plain English simplify written information and can add illustrations in a meaningful way. This makes it easier for the reader to understand and remember information. These documents can be accessed from the Scope website – http://www.scopevic.org.au/index.php/site/resources#Easy_english

Lap the Lakes
The Lap the Lakes event encourages greater physical activity in Wellington Shire by facilitating a team running/walking challenge. Invitations are extended to businesses, schools, community groups and government and non-government organisations in the Shire to enter a team of four people to run/walk around Lake Guthridge and Lake Guyatt in Sale. The aim is to encourage people to train in the months leading up to the event and then participate in the event. The training program will hopefully encourage runners and walkers to participate.
The event was held for the first time in 2007 with 63 teams involved. The Steering Committee, comprising representatives from Victoria Police, Wellington Shire Counicl, GippSport, Wellington Primary Care Partnership and Central Gippsland Health Service, decided to allocate a part of the entry fee to charity each year.
The following resouces are available for those who would like to conduct their own Community Fun Run/Walk:
