Due to the Dairy Farmers’ Crisis, the State Government has invested money into Mental Health First Aid for the dairy farming communities. Further to the standard courses run in Yarram and Maffra last year, we have been successful in gaining additional funding for a Youth Mental Health First Aid Course run through Neighbourhood Houses in Heyfield in April and two courses in Rosedale in August and October. A Standard Course was run in Sale at Central Gippsland Health totalling six courses having now been delivered across the Wellington Shire Region.
Through this funding, we were able to provide this training to many diverse members of our community. It is unlikely that those who participated or will participate would have had access to this training without this funding and participants are very grateful to have this training at no cost.
